# 120 Henri Mancini - Here's Looking At You Kid
Mancini was born Enrico Nicola Mancini in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the steel town of West Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. His parents immigrated from the Abruzzo region of Italy. In 1952, Mancini joined the Universal-International Studios' music department. During the next six years, he contributed music to over 100 movies, most notably "The Creature from the Black Lagoon," "It Came from Outer Space," "Tarantula," "This Island Earth," "The Glenn Miller Story" (for which he received his first Academy Award nomination), "The Benny Goodman Story" and Orson Welles' "Touch of Evil."
#118 EPMD Freestyle On Rap City
Erick Sermon's last verse really made me reminisce ...
Sad enough, that most of nowadays rap fans don't even know who's speaking to them.

#104 Buck 65 - Coo Coo Bird
#103 Chamillionaire ft. Slick Rick - HipHop Police
"Not a Criminal" didn't connect with his audience, so Chamillionaire did the smart thing. Reset his campaign with a new lead single. This time, he hooked up with one of the greatest storytellers of all time, MC Ricky D himself.
Sounds like "Ridin' Pt. II," but it's definitely an upgrade from "Not a Criminal."

#98 Guilty Simpson - A Man's World
What do we learn from this:
1) The "Tupacification" of JDilla goes on
2) Even Dilla can't add anything new to this overused sample
3) Guilty Simpson is underrated...

#92 Robert Gasper - Dilla Tribute
Robert Glasper is a Blue Note Records musician who released his debut Canvas in 2005 and his follow up In My Element came out this year. Admittedly I am not much of a expert of jazz I love the classics but have trouble finding the time to unearth new contemporary jazz talent. Glasper is just that.
On his new album he has a fantastic jazz track that pays tribute to J-Dilla and another fantastic blend of "Everything in its Right Place" by Radiohead and jazz classic "Maiden Voyage" by Herbie Hancock. Take a chance to check out this very talented dude.

#79 Betty Everett - 1900 Yesterday
“Shoop Shoop Song (It’s In His Kiss)” remains both Betty Everett’s greatest-selling record and the greatest disservice to the memory of her talents. Blessed as she was with a wistful, tart voice, Betty Everett was far more capable than what the bright girl-group pop of “Shoop Shoop” might suggest.

#77 From Berkeley To The Bronx
The remarkable story of Roger Linn, inventor of the drum machine. The son of an opera singer and a music professor, Linn's invention revolutionised popular music. He has inspired artists as diverse as Herbie Hancock, Heaven 17, and the Wu Tang Clan. Exploited by shady businessmen, Linn has been a reclusive figure for decades.

#76 R. Kelly - Best Friend / Ignition (Remix)
R.Kelly's new album "Double Up" is out.
"Best Friend" ft. Keyshia Cole & Polow Da Don is probably the best cut, and that alone says alot about the album.

#74 Herb Alpert - Rise
Herbert "Herb" Alpert (born March 31, 1935 in Los Angeles, California) is an American musician most associated with the Tijuana Brass, a now-defunct brass band of which he was the leader. He is also famous for being a recording industry executive — he is the "A" of A&M Records (a recording label he and then partner Jerry Moss founded and eventually sold). Alpert's musical accomplishments include five number one hits, twenty-eight albums on the Billboard charts, eight Grammy Awards, fourteen Platinum albums and fifteen Gold albums.
And yes, you have heard him before. "Rise" has been sampled by Puff Daddy for his protegé Notorious BIG. Remember "Hypnotize"? Yeah, you do...
