Dels' voice doesn't have the instantly distinctive tics of a Dizzee Rascal, and his verses have neither the idiosyncratic figurative language nor the standard-issue swagger of many other rappers. However, this direct, plainspoken delivery leaves plenty of room for Hot Chip, and reveals itself as an asset over repeat listens. Ask any writer: Being clear is hard work.
